Reverend Dr. Terrance Jerome Gattis is an author, educator, speaker, preacher, and pastor.  A native of Jersey City, New Jersey, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Livingstone College, a Master of Divinity degree from the Emory University Candler School of Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta.  He is currently an Associate Professor of Religion at Ohio Christian University, Morrow Georgia campus.

Dr. Gattis is a leading authority in congregational development, helping pastors and church leaders transform their ministries into vibrant communities of faith.  His book “Better Before Bigger: Practical Steps For Creating a Better and More Excellent Ministry”, has become an acclaimed and sought after resource, and he has been an invited keynote presenter and trainer at churches and conferences across the country.  Dr. Gattis is also the author of “The Bottom Line: Daily Devotions For The Workweek”, a resource that enhances the work day by providing scriptures and reflections that encourage strength, peace, and faith.

Dr. Gattis is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and a graduate of the 2015 Class of Leadership Henry.  He serves on the national Board of Directors for Forever Family Inc., a non-profit organization that serves and supports the children and families of those who are incarcerated, and he serves on the Board of Directors for the Henry County Department of Family and Children Services. He was appointed as the first official Chaplain for the City of Stockbridge in 2016, and was a recipient of the 2017 Chosen Award and the 2019 Pastor of the Year Award at the annual Gospel Choice Awards.

In December, 2009, Dr. Gattis was called as the 16th Pastor of the historic Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Stockbridge, GA.  During his pastorate, he has watched God bless the congregation to grow and prosper in many areas – from the completion of the church’s new Worship Center in November 2012, to the completion of the new Mt. Olive Community Outreach Center in April, 2014, and to the creation of new ministries and community outreach initiatives.  The church is also preparing to break ground on its new Family Life Center in 2020.  Dr. Gattis is married to Rev. Dr. Elaine Gattis and together they have four children.  Above all, Dr. Gattis is a humble servant of God who loves the Lord, loves to serve God’s people, and loves to proclaim the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Reverend Dr. Elaine Gattis, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, is an educator, author, speaker and ordained minister of the Gospel.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the California State University, East Bay, a Master of Divinity degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta.  She is an Associate Professor of Religion at Ohio Christian University’s Morrow, Georgia campus.  She also serves as the Executive Pastor of Mt. Olive, oversees the Marketing and Women's Ministry, and serves as the Director of the Mt. Olive College of Ministry.

Dr. Gattis is a leading authority in associate ministry training, providing ministers with the tools needed for a more effective, contextual ministry.  She is also a contributing author in the best selling anthology, “Women Who Soar.”  In her spare time, Dr. Gattis enjoys culinary arts and traveling.  She and her husband, Rev. Dr. Terrance Gattis, are the proud parents of four: Terrell, Tianna, Armorianna, and Nandi.  Above all she is a faithful servant of God who believes that the joy of the Lord is her strength (Neh. 8:10).
